Paludarium Hood and Fish

We finally finished the hood for the tank. I painted it with some textured paint so it kind of looks like grey river sand.

Here's the Betta that we put in the tank. This fish is so active and fast - very different from the impression they give when they are in those tiny little cups that pet stores sell them in.

After doing my research I decided to put Rainbow fish in the tank. These are Boesemani Rainbows. They haven't developed their full color yet so I will be posting more photos as they begin to really show off.

Now, below is the fish that the boys chose for our tank. I had already determined that we would get some Cory Cats for the bottom of the tank but I was hoping for some emerald or leopard Corys. Nope, the boys had to pick out the one fish in the whole store that looks like a rat that can swim. This is an Albino Cory - yep, he has red eyes. There are four of them in the tank and they are very active and entertaining - even if they are ugly.
